Spatial Information Awareness Working Group

The SICOM Spatial Information Awareness Working Group works towards developing programs and strategies for spreading the awareness of spatial information and the role of SICOM, amongst the wider spatial community and the non-spatial community.

The activities undertaken by the Spatial Information Awareness Working Group include:

  1. Managing and organising annual Spatial Information Days in collaboration with other organising partners.
  2. Identifying specific target areas or groups in terms of raising awareness of spatial information and subsequently developing strategies and programs for addressing awareness needs.
  3. Regularly review the SICOM website and recommending strategies for improving information communication amongst members.
  4. Developing strategies for improving information flow and communication within the SICOM community.

The Spatial Information Awareness Working Group maintains a core membership, with other members joining as necessary, depending upon the issue being considered. Non-core members may be drawn from the wider spatial community and not restricted to SICOM members.
